Dr Adam Perry Obituary Lafayette La. February 10, 1975 – March 18, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Delhomme’s Chapel of Flowers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Delhomme Funeral Home.

Adam played as the starting left guard in every game during his junior and senior years in 1996 and 1997. He helped LSU to a 10-2 record and win the Peach Bowl in 1996. Adam’s accomplishments on the field include winning the Eric Andolsek Award for Spring Training Achievement and being named a permanent team captain in 1997.
Adam was a 1996 Academic All-American. off the field and was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll from 1994 to 1997. LSU Football recognized Adam for his true character when he received the Butch Duhe Award in 1997, An honor for the LSU football player who most embodies the ideals of selflessness, dependability, and dedication. Adam received his medical degree from the LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport.
He completed his orthopedic surgery training at the LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans, located at Charity Hospital. Dr. Perry was a giant in the program, literally and figuratively, mentoring and encouraging young residents and medical students.
Dr. Perry traveled to San Antonio to pursue an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship with renowned Dr. Jesse C. DeLee, who considered Adam “the best fellow he ever had,” before eventually ending up in Lafayette. Dr. Perry has a new vision for orthopedic medicine in Acadiana.
He founded Louisiana Orthopedic Specialists in 2008 as a solo surgeon. He helped LOS grow to sixteen physicians and surgeons, more than 200 employees, and multiple locations, providing subspecialty orthopedic care to the residents of Acadiana. Dr. Perry was a visionary, and his legacy at LOS will live on.
Patients loved the larger-than-life Dr. Perry with his bright smile, booming voice, and ability to calm them down. Dr. Perry was compassionate and caring; he was a devoted surgeon and healer. While at LSU, Adam met the love of his life, Heidi Hargett Perry. After sneaking in at midnight, he proposed to her in “Eye of the Tiger” in Death Valley. Adam and Heidi were happily married for 26 years.
When Adam wasn’t working, he was with Heidi, listening to music, enjoying good food, and spending time with friends. He loved fishing at his camp and “LIVIN’ LARGE.” He also enjoyed hunting with his boys from Texas to Mexico.
Adam and Heidi have three sons that Adam idolized: Thomas, Gresham, and Drake. Adam was an enthusiastic cheerleader. To be closer to his boys, Adam signed up as the head of sports medicine at Teurlings Catholic High School—he never missed a Friday night on the side.
Adam passed away far too soon, and we will miss him very much. Dr. Perry is survived by his wife, Heidi, and sons Thomas, Gresham and Drake; his brother, S.
Perry, Sr.; his brother Ronald E. Perry, Jr.; his father-in-law, Daniel N. Hargett, Sr.; and brother-in-law Daniel Neil Hargett, Jr. and Steve Partridge. The Louisiana Department of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Specialists mourns the loss of a valued leader, partner, mentor, and friend. The orthopedic community has lost a talented, committed surgeon, physician, and healer.
Although he opened the practice alone, Mary Building on the old Our Lady of Lourdes campus to its current location on Rue Louis XIV. During this time, the company grew from one to sixteen orthopedic surgeons.
Today, LOS employs more than 200 people and provides surgical care for people of all ages and body parts, non-surgical orthopedic treatment, physical and occupational therapy, advanced imaging, and after-hours emergency care.

He was a pioneer in performing anterior total hip arthroplasty, a new technique that has greatly improved hip arthroplasty and patient recovery. In addition, Dr. Perry introduced Acadiana’s first ROSA robotic hip replacement. But Dr. Perry’s excellence was not limited to his own achievements.
Although Dr. Perry loved orthopedics and caring for his patients, his heart belonged to his wife, Heidi, and their three sons: Thomas, Gresham, and Drake.
